Two suspects followed a person who withdrew 200,000 euros from a bank belonging to the company where he worked in Avcılar and robbed him of the bag full of money. It was determined that one of the three suspects captured worked as a secretary at the same company. A portion of the stolen money, amounting to 157,000 euros, was found at the secretary's home. While the three suspects were arrested, the incident was recorded by security cameras.
Azerbaijani national F.S. (27), who withdrew 200 thousand euros from the consulting firm he worked for, was sprayed in the face with pepper spray and assaulted by 2 people who were following him while he was walking on the street. The suspects, who robbed F.S. of the bag full of money he was carrying, fled the scene.
THEY WERE CAPTURED 16 HOURS AFTER THE INCIDENT
After the incident was reported by witnesses, the victim F.S. gave a statement to the police. Based on F.S.'s statement, the teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch, Robbery Bureau, started tracking the suspects by examining security camera footage. It was determined that the suspects, who fled the scene, changed taxis 6 times to cover their tracks and entered an address on Zuhal Street in the Çağlayan neighborhood of Kağıthane district. In an operation conducted by the police 16 hours after the incident, 2 suspects involved in the incident were captured along with a woman named Gülşen S., who worked as a secretary at the same company as the victim. During the search of the house, 157 thousand euros of the stolen money was recovered.
THE SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED
The detained suspects were brought to the Robbery Bureau. Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspects who robbed F.S. were Gülşen S.'s husband and cousin. The suspects, whose procedures were completed at the police station, were arrested by the judicial authorities to which they were referred and sent to prison.
