Health Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu stated that the recent claims about an increase in upper respiratory tract infections do not reflect the truth.

Minister Memişoğlu argued that the number of influenza infections is at the same level as last year, and he mentioned that we are experiencing a period dominated by the influenza virus, which is a seasonal rise.

Minister Memişoğlu's response to the claims about the increase in upper respiratory tract infections was as follows: "It is stated that the number of influenza infections has increased, but the public should know that there is no difference compared to previous years. We are experiencing a period dominated by the influenza virus in the same way. This is a seasonal rise.

I want to emphasize that there is no difference compared to previous years. We can manage these types of flu cases more effectively and less widely, especially in family medicine practices, by resting and avoiding crowded places. We also want the community to pay attention to this matter."
