The neglected state of the area, which includes the 600-year-old Mir Abdal Mosque in the Cizre district of Şırnak, breaks hearts. The historical site, which is visited by a flood of visitors every day and includes the Memuzin tombs, is under great threat due to neglect. Deep cracks at the entrance gate on Memuzin Boulevard, one of the two gates that were previously restored, pose a significant danger. Visitors are calling on the authorities to take precautions for the structure that is at risk of collapse. "ABOUT TO COLLAPSE"Edip Ataç, who stated that the historical site needs to be restored, said, "This is the historical structure of the Mir Abdal Mosque. The entrance gate of the mosque you see behind me is about to collapse. It was previously restored, but now it is on the verge of collapse due to deep cracks. The large stones on top of the gate have fallen onto the road. As you can see, the structure is facing collapse. This is a historical site that thousands of people visit daily. Within the historical area, there is the Mir Abdal madrasa and the Memuzin tomb. Unfortunately, this place has been left unattended. The neglected historical area needs to be cleaned and organized. The garden has dried up, the water pool is filled with trash, and there are no staff to explain the history of this place to the visiting guests. If the entrance gate with deep cracks falls on someone, a major disaster could occur. We are calling on the regional culture directorate and the authorities. We want the historical site to be restored and reopened for public service," he said.
