The 'Köfteci Yusuf' scandal, which emerged from reports by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry indicating the use of pork in its products, was discussed for days. The owner of the company, who made a statement following the reports, denied the allegations. A notable evaluation regarding the topic that was discussed for days came from the MasterChef jury members. Chef Somer Sivrioğlu and Mehmet Yalçınkaya were asked about their thoughts on the discussions surrounding 'Köfteci Yusuf' during a program they participated in. "YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY"Yalçınkaya, in his statement regarding the issue, said, "The gram weight given according to the consumption does not worth the risk involved in that job, in my opinion. This is not something that should be done for profit. It is not an action that would put this many shops at risk; even a madman wouldn't do that. You have to be crazy," he expressed. "I FEEL THERE'S SOMETHING STRANGE GOING ON"Somer Sivrioğlu stated, "I am trying to look at it from a cost perspective, but it seems illogical. As far as I understand, the pork being referred to is wild boar. Because buying pork in Turkey would be much more costly, I assume. They would have to import it from abroad and so on... But there are cheaper ways to do this. For example, soy meat is much cheaper. There are many other ways to bring it cheaply, like using turkey, etc. If they mixed those, it would be done in this way for profit. I don't know, but when I don't understand, I feel that there is something strange going on. I think it is a campaign made for the sake of defamation based entirely on my instincts," he said.
