Demir Export A.Ş., operating under Koç Holding, sold its gold mine project and license in Balıkesir to CVK Maden İşletmeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. for approximately 18.5 million euros (around 900 million TL).
Koç Holding's subsidiary Demir Export A.Ş., which has been operating in the mining sector since 1957, sold one of its most important projects, the Sarıalan Gold Operation Project in Balıkesir İvrindi, to CVK Maden İşletmeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş., owned by the Çevik Family.
KAP STATEMENT HAS ARRIVED
In a statement made by CVK Maden to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was stated that the relevant license area was purchased from Demir Export for 18.5 million euros (approximately 18.5 million dollars). The company also expressed that efforts to expand the licensed area in the field are ongoing.
"AGREEMENT HAS BEEN REACHED"
The statement included the following expressions: "Our company CVK Maden İşletmeleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. is making efforts to expand the license area of the Sarıalan Gold Operation Project, and in this context; an agreement has been reached regarding the purchase of the mining area with Operating License No. 201201393, located within the borders of İvrindi district of Balıkesir province, from Demir Export A.Ş. for 18,500,000 USD."
Measurements taken at the mine in Balıkesir estimate that there are approximately 70,000 ounces of gold and 468,000 ounces of silver reserves. As part of the sales agreement, the payment of the 18.5 million euro amount will be completed within 2 years. Additionally, 3% of the revenue generated from the mine production will be paid to Demir Export as NSR (Net Smelter Return) share.
