The murder suspect Deniz Boyacı, who is linked to the case of 17-year-old Hasret Akkuzu, whose body was found in a water well in Zonguldak, was sentenced in 2001 for killing four people when he was 17 years old. It has been revealed that after being released in 2016, he was arrested again for another murder and received a sentence. Most recently, while staying in an open prison, he was granted leave and did not return.
Deniz Boyacı (41), who is said to be the murder suspect of Hasret Akkuzu (17), whose body was found in a water well in the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, was caught in Aydın. Boyacı, who had previously been convicted of 5 murders, has become a topic of discussion in Turkey.
On the morning of October 19, villagers grazing animals in the rural Koramanlar village of the Çaycuma district noticed a body in the water well. Upon notification, gendarmerie and health teams were dispatched to the area. The body retrieved from the well was taken to the Çaycuma State Hospital morgue. The family identified the body as belonging to Akkuzu, who had been missing since October 12.
CAUGHT IN AYDIN
Gendarmerie teams, who launched a multi-faceted investigation into the incident, detained 6 people and determined that Deniz Boyacı, who is suspected of killing Akkuzu, was in Aydın. The teams arrested Boyacı in an operation they conducted.
KILLED 4 PEOPLE, 2 OF THEM CHILDREN, IN 2011
Deniz Boyacı, the murder suspect, was reported to have been detained and arrested along with a friend for allegedly stabbing and killing Ahmet Kavak, his partner Ayşe Akça, and their 2 children in Koramanlar neighborhood, where Hasret Akkuzu's body was found, in 2001. It was stated that Boyacı, who was 17 years old at the time, was sentenced to prison and was released in 2016.
LEFT OPEN PRISON ON LEAVE
Deniz Boyacı was detained again shortly after being released from prison. In 2001, three months before the murder of 4 people, he was detained for allegedly being involved in the murder of a contractor in Konya with 3 friends, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison in the trial he was tried in. After staying in a closed prison for a while, he was transferred to an open prison, from which he was released on leave and did not return.
HAD CARED FOR THE KILLER'S BABY
On the other hand, it was learned that Hasret Akkuzu, whose lifeless body was found in the water well, had cared for the baby of the murder suspect Deniz Boyacı about 4 years ago. Akkuzu, who was receiving high school education through open education, was reported to have worked in a textile factory and left her job on October 7.
TEXTED 'I'M COMING' TO HER FATHER
On October 12, the day Akkuzu went missing, it was revealed that she went to the town center to buy a suitcase and sent a message to her father around 21:45 saying 'I'm coming' because it was late. Later, she responded to her father's call by saying, 'My battery is low, I'm coming home.' After this conversation, her family could not hear from her again.
A CAMERA WAS INSTALLED ON THE TREE
It was observed that a camera was installed on the tree next to the well where Hasret Akkuzu's lifeless body was found, by the gendarmerie teams after the incident to monitor the arrivals and departures to the well.
ANIMALS DID NOT DRINK FROM THE WELL
It was learned that a dead dog had previously been thrown into the well where the young girl was found, and for this reason, the well cover was locked with iron pieces. Ramazan Akça (65), who grazed his animals in the pasture near the well where Akkuzu's lifeless body was found, said, "They broke the cover here. In the late afternoon, a friend who was drawing water saw that the animals did not drink water, so he looked through the cover. He saw something like a dog or a corpse inside, but he went home without telling anyone. Then, the friend's mother called and said, 'We drink water from there, let's see if it's a corpse or what,' and we came to look. We looked with a flashlight. We saw a corpse. We called the muhtar, and he called the police station. When the gendarmes came, we gave our statements at the police station. They released us. This place was locked; they broke the cover there. I don't know when it was broken. We came here on Saturday and washed the trailer," he said.
