In the Family Year Promotion Program, President Erdoğan emphasized the increase in the elderly population in Turkey, stating, "We repeat our call for at least 3 children." Erdoğan further expressed that a series of assistance will be provided to both couples who will marry and parents who will have children.
The good news announced by Erdoğan is as follows;
- Interest-free loan support of 150,000 lira for young couples getting married, with a 48-month term and two years of no repayment,
- The one-time birth assistance for the first child will be increased to 5,000 lira,
- For the second child, 1,500 TL will be provided monthly, and for the third and subsequent children, 5,000 TL will be provided monthly. Child assistance will continue until the children turn 5 years old.
ASSISTANCE WILL CONTINUE FOR 5 YEARS
So how long will these child assistance programs last? Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, who made statements on the subject, said, "A one-time cash assistance of 5,000 lira will be provided for the first birth. For the second child, we are moving to a regular assistance of 1,500 lira. This will be deposited into the mother's account every month. Starting from the third child, there will be a support of 5,000 lira. This will also be a monthly support deposited into the mother's account. For the third child and beyond, this support will continue as 5,000 lira each. I want to emphasize that our child assistance will continue until our children turn 5 years old," she stated.
