HÜDA PAR Spokesperson Yunus Emiroğlu stated, "We are making a clear call from here: Adultery should be a crime again. Publications and activities that incite this crime should also be included in the scope of offenses. Non-repayable support should be provided to young people to establish the institution of marriage."
STRIKING STATEMENT FROM HÜDA PAR SPOKESPERSON
HÜDA PAR Spokesperson Yunus Emiroğlu, in his statement, said that adultery should be legally considered a crime. Emphasizing that non-repayable support should be provided to young people for marriage, Emiroğlu used the following expressions: "Divorces are increasing in Turkey, families are disintegrating in a short time, and the younger generations are distancing themselves from marriage. According to the 2021 TÜİK data, among the reasons for divorces, infidelity, that is, adultery, ranks second with a share of 14%. The cause of this destruction faced by the family institution should not be ignored.
"ADULTERY IS A SOCIAL DISASTER"
Although adultery is accepted as a reason that legally undermines the family in divorce cases, the fact that it is not considered a crime in terms of criminal law creates a contradiction. Regarding adultery, which is a social disaster, Almighty Allah states in Surah Al-Isra, verse 32: 'Do not approach adultery. Indeed, it is a shameful act and a very evil way.'
Unfortunately, the freedom of these shameless and evil paths, the abundance of publications and environments that encourage them, and the protection of adultery under the guise of 'private life' create a picture that punishes loyalty and rewards irresponsibility. In a period where adultery is free and marriages are becoming difficult, young people are clearly being sent the message that there is no need for marriage, which requires burdens and responsibilities.
"ADULTERY SHOULD BE A CRIME AGAIN"
We are making a clear call from here: Adultery should be a crime again. Publications and activities that incite this crime should also be included in the scope of offenses. Non-repayable support should be provided to young people to establish the institution of marriage."
