In the rural Maden neighborhood of Ceylanpınar district in Şanlıurfa, fires had been breaking out for about a week in the house of a family of 8, with the cause still undetermined.
WHEREVER THEY WENT, IT BURNED
The family, whose belongings caught fire multiple times during the day, had to evacuate their home. Fires also started in the neighbors' houses where the family sought refuge to sleep at night after taking their belongings outside.
HUNDREDS PRAYED AND CHANTED UNTIL MORNING
Hundreds of people mobilized for the family who had to sleep outside. A crowd gathered in front of the house upon the call of Seyit Cuma El Tufehi, one of the well-known figures in the region, praying and performing rituals for hours. It was reported that after the prayers and rituals, the belongings in the house did not catch fire again.
"OUR FIRE HAS BEEN EXTINGUISHED"
Mehmet Mol, who stated that no more fires broke out in the house after the crowd's prayers and rituals, said, "Thank God our fire has been extinguished. Our scholars came from Viranşehir, they prayed and chanted. Right now, we have no problems. Our fire has been extinguished."
