U.S. President Donald Trump, who said, "Iranian civilization will be destroyed tonight," responded to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's call for a mutual ceasefire with Iran. Making a statement 1.5 hours before the deadline he set until 3 o'clock, Trump said, "I agree to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks, provided that Iran agrees to open the Strait of Hormuz fully, immediately, and safely. This will be a bilateral ceasefire."

The world finally breathed a sigh of relief in the conflicts between the US and Iran. Trump, who threatened to "destroy Iranian civilization" if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz by 3 AM Turkey time, conditionally accepted the ceasefire call from Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

TRUMP: I AGREE TO SUSPEND ATTACKS FOR TWO WEEKS ON THE CONDITION THAT HORMUZ IS OPENED

In his statement, Trump said: "Based on my discussions with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Marshal Asim Munir, and upon their request for me to halt the destructive force that will be sent to Iran tonight; I agree to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks on the condition that the Islamic Republic of Iran agrees to open the Strait of Hormuz fully, immediately, and safely. This will be a bilateral ceasefire!

"WE HAVE REACHED ALL OUR MILITARY TARGETS"

The reason for this is that we have already reached and even exceeded all our military targets; furthermore, we have come a long way towards a definitive agreement for long-term peace with Iran and peace in the Middle East. We received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believe it is a viable basis for negotiation.

Almost all past disputes have been resolved between the United States and Iran, but a two-week period will allow for the conclusion and finalization of the agreement.

On behalf of the United States, as President and also representing the countries of the Middle East, I am honored that we are approaching a solution to this long-term issue. Thank you for your interest in this matter!"

PAKISTAN: I REQUEST TRUMP TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE TO IRAN BY TWO WEEKS

Pakistani Prime Minister Sharif called on Trump to extend the deadline. Shahbaz Sharif stated: "Diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing war in the Middle East through peaceful means are progressing decisively, strongly, and effectively, and have the potential to yield concrete results in the near future. To pave the way for diplomacy, I sincerely request President Trump to extend the deadline by two weeks.

"I REQUEST IRAN TO OPEN HORMUZ, LET A CEASEFIRE BE DECLARED FOR TWO WEEKS"

Pakistan is sincerely requesting its Iranian brothers to open the Strait of Hormuz as a gesture of goodwill for the same two-week period. Additionally, in the interest of establishing long-term peace and stability in the region; we call on all conflicting parties everywhere to declare a ceasefire for two weeks to ensure that diplomacy definitively ends the war."

TRUMP: A GREAT CIVILIZATION WILL BE DESTROYED TONIGHT

US President Trump, who set a deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz, used the expression "by 8 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday (03:00 AM Turkey time on April 8)" in his statement on April 5. Just before the deadline, Trump stated, "A great civilization will be destroyed tonight and will never be brought back. I do not want this to happen, but it probably will." In a statement from the White House, it was noted, "Nuclear weapons will not be used."

IRAN: ALL DIPLOMATIC CHANNELS ARE CLOSED

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards responded to Trump's threat by saying, "If the US crosses red lines, our response will extend beyond the region." While the standoffs continue, it was announced that Iran has closed all diplomatic channels with the US.
