Görkem Sevindik, the famous actor who plays Kadir Baba in the series Eşref Rüya, made statements regarding the reactions and calls for boycott that emerged after his post about the developments in Israel. Emphasizing that his post was a humanitarian and moral reflex, Sevindik gave clear answers to both the criticisms and the comments made about him.
Actor Görkem Sevindik made statements regarding the reactions he received after his post about the developments in Israel. Sevindik stated that he made the post consciously, saying, “As a human and a father, I could not remain indifferent.”
“THE IMAGES I SAW AFFECTED ME DEEPLY”
Speaking to CNN Türk, Sevindik expressed that he was affected by the images of individuals reportedly sentenced to death. The images of people saying goodbye to their families particularly left a deep mark on him, and he stated that these moments emotionally shook him.
Sevindik, who said, “As a father, I empathized. I could not remain indifferent to what was happening at that moment,” emphasized that his post was a completely human reflex.
CLEAR RESPONSE TO BOYCOTT CALLS
Addressing the boycott calls directed at the series "Eşref Rüya" in which he participates, Sevindik stated that this situation did not hold any significance for him.
Sevindik said, “Yes, they are boycotting me. They are boycotting the series I am part of that is currently airing there. It doesn’t make any difference to me. I stand behind my reaction. I am against oppression. We are against oppression everywhere. We are ready to do everything we can to prevent it,” he said.

Sevindik also addressed the statements made by the Israeli Minister of National Security towards him, expressing that he did not see the issue as a political debate.
The actor stated that he only evaluated himself as an artist and a father, expressing that his post was a personal matter of conscience.

Sevindik, who also called on the international community, emphasized that there should be a stand against wars.
The actor stated, “Everyone with a conscience should be against war,” expressing that societies should not remain indifferent to such events.
“I DID NOT EXPECT IT TO GROW THIS MUCH”
Sevindik mentioned that he did not foresee the process growing to this extent, noting that the interest in the series he is part of in the region could also have contributed to the increase in reactions.

MINISTER OFFICIALLY THREATENED
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir personally released a video attacking the famous actor through his character in the series "Eşref Rüya." The far-right minister of the country explicitly targeted Sevindik by referring to the character "Kadir Baba" portrayed by him, saying, "You will never be a father in your life, Kadir. You may be living in a Turkish series, but we are in the real world." In the continuation of his post, Ben-Gvir stated that there is "only the death penalty for the terrorists" that Sevindik defends.
