President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists' questions after Friday prayers in Istanbul. Erdoğan said, "We accompanied the historic moment in Galata, we will not leave Palestine alone." In the continuation of his speech, Erdoğan stated that he would meet with Trump on Monday, saying, "We will discuss the issues of Ukraine and Palestine."

Referring to the rally held on the Galata Bridge on the first day of the new year to say "stop" to the massacre in Palestine, Erdoğan stated, "As we entered the new year, we all witnessed a historic moment on the Galata Bridge. This shows that Palestine is not alone. Palestine is always in our hearts, and Israel's hostility will not go unpunished."
"WE WILL FREE THOSE OPPRESSED FROM THEIR SUFFERING SOONER OR LATER"
Emphasizing that Turkey has not left Gaza and Palestine alone, President Erdoğan continued;
"From now on, neither Gaza nor Palestine will be left alone. We will continue our efforts as Turkey and the Islamic world by standing by Palestine and Gaza, and we will maintain our unity. We are entering 2026 in a much stronger way. Especially, the actions of this Pharaoh called Netanyahu will not go unpunished. He has taken the cries of many oppressed people from ages 7 to 70. The cries of these children will not go unpunished. The condition of those children in the wind, rain, and mud, which looks like anything but a tent on television screens, will not go unpunished for Netanyahu. We are doing everything we can. We want to send containers, but they do not allow it. Because he needs to permit this. We have containers. With these, we could have had the chance to save our Palestinian and Gazan brothers from living in those tents, but we cannot. Sooner or later, we hope to free those oppressed from this suffering."
"I WILL MEET WITH TRUMP ON MONDAY"
My meetings with both Mr. Putin, Mr. Zelensky, and Mr. Trump continue. There will be another summit in Paris. My Foreign Minister will attend on my behalf. I will have another meeting with Mr. Trump on Monday evening. We will have the opportunity to discuss the issues between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the issues in Palestine.
ECONOMIC OUTLOOK
We have entered 2026 positively above all else. Both the decrease in inflation and the reserves of our Central Bank are improving day by day. 2026 will be a year filled with successes in this regard. We have full faith in this. Our reserves are quite good. Therefore, we are not experiencing any difficulties. Hopefully, with more effort, we will strengthen these reserves further.
EARTHQUAKE HOUSING
Our Ministry of Environment, led by Mr. Murat, is continuing its work with all its teams, and thus, our 11 provinces are continuing their efforts as earthquake-affected areas. We hope to reach our goals for earthquake housing, and we will continue our efforts in social housing with the same determination outside of earthquake housing. We will continue our path with projects like 1+1, 2+1, and 3+1."
