A lawyer who argued with and attempted to attack a judge working at the Istanbul Küçükçekmece Courthouse was detained.
According to a statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of Küçükçekmece, a discussion occurred yesterday between lawyer P.S., who was later found to be registered with the Istanbul Bar Association, and the presiding judge at the Küçükçekmece Courthouse Civil Court clerk's office. It was reported that the argument escalated after it was stated that the lawyer's remarks regarding his case were not in accordance with the law.
HE WAS DETAINED
The statement noted that the judge requested the lawyer to leave in order to prevent the argument from escalating, but the lawyer continued his aggressive behavior, struck the desk of the Chief Clerk, and continued his angry actions despite the police being called. It was stated that the lawyer was prevented from attempting to attack the judge by individuals present at the scene. Following the judge's complaint, an investigation was initiated against lawyer P.S. for the crime of 'attempted intentional injury.' Lawyer P.S. was detained.
