Last week, the duty station of Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who made a statement about Yılmaz Güney, was changed. He was removed from his position in the organized crime unit and assigned to the general investigation bureau. After this relocation, he took a leave of absence. At the end of his leave, Prosecutor Yavuz Engin will be required to temporarily leave his short-term duty to fulfill his military service as a "paid" soldier.

Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Aydın changed the duty location of Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who is conducting the "Newborn Gang" investigation, and removed his responsibility in the organized crime bureau, assigning him to the general investigation bureau instead. This change was officially implemented last week.

WHO IS YAVUZ ENGİN?
Yavuz Engin stands out as one of the legal figures closely watched by Turkey. Born in Germany in 1989, Engin completed his education in Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education at Bolu 50th Year Secondary School and his high school education at Bolu İzzet Baysal Anatolian High School. After graduating from high school in 2008, Engin started at Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2009 and graduated in 2013.
After graduation, Engin completed his internship at the Istanbul Bar Association and began his professional career as a candidate prosecutor in 2014. He started his duty by being appointed to the Saruhanlı Public Prosecutor's Office. Throughout his career, he has held positions at critical points in the legal system and has been involved in cases closely followed by the public, one of which is the "Newborn case."
