Following the results of surveys showing Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş in the lead, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu took action and had a special survey conducted through his advisor. However, the results of this survey did not change either.

The data regarding CHP leader Özgür Özel from the conducted survey caught İmamoğlu's attention. He requested a report from the polling company in this regard. The prepared report indicated that Özgür Özel was pulling down Ekrem İmamoğlu's votes. In response to this development, İmamoğlu's team decided to use the title of President of the Union of Turkish Municipalities in social media posts and news related to İmamoğlu. Thus, he aims to create an independent identity from Özgür Özel.

On the other hand, ASAL Research recently asked participants the question, "Who is your favorite politician in Turkey?" In this survey, President Erdoğan ranked first with 20.2%, Mansur Yavaş second with 16.5%, and Ekrem İmamoğlu third with 12.0%.
