SLASHED THE TIRES OF CARS
Owners of the parked vehicles on Damlataş Street in the Çarşı neighborhood noticed that the tires of their cars had been slashed. After reviewing the footage from nearby security cameras, the vehicle owners saw that a person had slashed the tires during the night and reported the situation to the police.
CAUGHT ON SECURITY CAMERAS
Police teams apprehended the suspect, who was identified as having slashed the front and rear tires on the right side of the vehicles. Meanwhile, after the suspect stated that he would cover the costs, a repairman sent to the scene replaced the flat tires with new ones.
Onur Tüzün, a local resident, told reporters that he noticed the tires were flat when he was about to get into his car to take his child to the hospital in the morning.
AGREED TO COVER THE COSTS
Tüzün explained that he learned about a person slashing the tires of nearly 20 vehicles late at night, saying, "It's a strange incident. We had to take a taxi. We reported it to the police on our way back. The suspect has been caught. Lawyers are involved, and they are handling it. The tires are being changed. They are changing them themselves. We did not file a complaint. They approached us in good faith, and we responded in kind."
