During the trial of the 'Dalton crime organization case' at Marmara Prison, a lawyer who recorded moments when the defendants attacked the gendarmerie with chairs without permission was arrested.

During the trial in the courtroom at the Marmara Prison Campus, a lawyer was arrested for recording audio and video without permission during the proceedings known as the "Dalton criminal organization case."

INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE FOOTAGE IN THE DALTON CASE

The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing the investigation initiated regarding the unauthorized audio and video recording during the hearing held on December 22 in courtroom No. 1 at the Marmara Closed Prison Institution Campus, where 363 defendants are being tried by the Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court, known to the public as the "Barış Boyun-Dalton criminal organization case."

LAWYER WHO RECORDED THE FIGHT IN THE HEARING ARRESTED

As part of the investigation, it was decided to arrest the suspect lawyer T.G., registered with the Istanbul Bar Association, who was found to have recorded unauthorized audio and video of the defendants attacking the on-duty gendarmerie personnel with chairs during the hearing.

DEFENDANTS ATTACKED THE GENDARMERIE WITH CHAIRS

In a statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on December 23, it was noted that during the hearing held on December 22 in courtroom No. 1 at the Marmara Closed Prison Institution Campus, where 363 defendants were being tried by the Istanbul 16th High Criminal Court and the decision was announced, some defendants physically attacked the gendarmerie personnel responsible for maintaining order and security in the courtroom by throwing chairs, and it was also recorded that public property was damaged.

The statement mentioned that an investigation was initiated by the Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the crimes of "resisting a public official in the performance of their duty" and "damaging public property" related to the incident.

In another statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reminded that acts of resistance were carried out against the on-duty gendarmerie personnel during the trial, and it was reported that unauthorized audio and video recordings were made during the hearing, which were found to have been carried out by three lawyers registered with the Istanbul Bar Association.

The statement indicated that searches were conducted in the homes and offices of the suspect lawyers T.G., S.K., and K.Y. based on a judicial decision regarding the crimes of "recording audio or video" regulated in Article 286 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 and "knowingly and willingly aiding an organization without being a member of it" regulated in Article 220/7 of the same Code, and instructions were given for their detention.
