The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed the indictment regarding the actions deemed to contain criminal elements that took place at the grave of İkbal Uzuner. A prison sentence has been requested for three children aged 15 for multiple offenses.
The investigation into the incident that occurred on November 19, 2025, at the grave of 19-year-old İkbal Uzuner, who was brutally murdered by Semih Çelik in Fatih, Istanbul, has been completed concerning three children aged 15 who were involved in the crime. In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, father Hasan Uzuner is listed as the 'complainant,' while Ö.D. (15), Ö.E.E. (15), and Y.A. (15) are listed as 'children involved in the crime.'
THEY DRESSED LIKE İKBAL'S KILLER AND MADE A POST
In the prepared indictment, it is stated that the children involved in the crime acted in unison to resemble the killer Semih Çelik, dressing similarly to the clothes Çelik wore at the time of the murders. They first went to the location of the walls, where Ö.D. styled his hair like the killer's and lay on his back, recording themselves and the walls in that position, and shared the video on social media with the same song used by the killer Çelik.
THEY COMMITTED THE CRIME OF DAMAGING PLACES OF WORSHIP AND CEMETERIES
In the indictment, it is reported that while Ö.D. displayed mocking behavior with a cigarette in his mouth, he brought his genitalia close to İkbal Uzuner's gravestone, and Ö.D. and Ö.E.E. poured water on the grave. They shared a video of these moments on social media, captioned 'drowned,' and it was noted that they also committed the crime of damaging places of worship and cemeteries, as well as actions that tarnished the honor, dignity, and reputation of İkbal Uzuner.
In the indictment, it is stated that father Hasan Uzuner went to his late daughter's grave with his wife after work, and that several colleagues and individuals wanting to protect his late daughter reached out to him, informing him that water had been poured on his daughter's grave and that there was video footage of inappropriate behavior at the grave, which is how he became aware of the incident.
CONTROVERSIAL DEFENSE: OUR ACTIONS WERE NOT OF A SEXUAL NATURE
In the indictment, Ö.D.'s statement is included, where he mentioned that he did not think the events would escalate to this level and claimed that his actions were not sexual in nature. It is noted that Ö.E.E. stated he only participated in the act of watering the cemetery and regretted being associated with such an incident, while Y.A. expressed that if he had known the event would escalate to this point, he would never have gone and felt sad and regretful for being associated with such an incident.
REQUEST FOR UP TO 2 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS IN PRISON
In the prepared indictment, it is requested that the children involved in the crime, Ö.D., Ö.E.E., and Y.A., be sentenced to a total of 5 months to 2 years and 8 months in prison for the crimes of 'insulting the memory of a person,' 'praising the crime and the criminal,' and 'damaging places of worship and cemeteries.'
