Three people who sent threatening messages to the family after the murder of Atlas Çağlayan have been arrested. The suspect Y.T. stated in his defense, "Ö.F.A. is my cousin, he had assigned me to recruit and remove members on the site called PKK V404, I do not know if this site has any connection to the PKK. I also went through an investigation due to my cousin Ö.F.A. in the Hakan Çakır incident, I request a decision for my release."
The public, shaken by the stabbing murder of Atlas Çağlayan, was once again tense due to provocative actions targeting the family after the murder. The judicial process has been completed regarding the suspects who threatened Çağlayan's mother and made hate speech on social media.
In the investigation initiated by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 3 of the 6 people detained were arrested and sent to prison. According to a report in Sabah, the statements of the suspects have emerged.
"I AM NOT THE ONE SENDING THE MESSAGES"
The suspect A.E., who was arrested as part of the investigation, stated in his testimony: "The individuals who made this post copied my email used in the video content from the part that benefits from the privileges on my channel to frame me for the crime, which is why when the link is clicked, my account appears, but I am definitely not the person who made this post or sent these messages, I do not know who they are, I request a decision for my release."
"I HAVE ALSO BEEN INVESTIGATED IN THE HAKAN ÇAKIR CASE"
The juvenile suspect Y.T. stated in his testimony:
-O.F.A. is my cousin, he had assigned me to recruit and remove members on the site called PKK V404, I do not know if this site has any connection with the PKK, my cousin O.F. uses the line with the number +447..., he sent a link to my Whatsapp from this line, when I opened the link, I saw that the mentioned message had been sent, the phone belongs to me, I was also investigated due to my cousin O.F.A. in the Hakan Çakır incident, I request a decision for my release.
"I DID NOT ENGAGE IN SUCH AN ACTION"
The suspect S.T. stated in his bold testimony:
-The line with the number 05... belongs to me, but my brother Yusuf uses this line, I do not know to whom the line with the number +447... belongs, I do not have any information about my brother Yusuf or anyone else sending threatening messages to Atlas Çağlayan's family, I did not engage in such an action, I request a decision for my release.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The murder of Atlas Çağlayan, which Turkey is talking about, took place on the evening of January 14 in Güngören. 16-year-old Atlas Çağlayan went to a café in the district with his friends. Allegedly, while Çağlayan and his friends were sitting in the café, they had a staring dispute with another group at the adjacent table. The argument that started inside the café quickly escalated and spilled out onto the street. During this time, a 15-year-old boy stabbed Atlas Çağlayan in the chest.
DIED IN THE HOSPITAL
The medical teams dispatched to the scene quickly took Atlas to the hospital. However, Atlas could not be saved. The police detained the attacker and his friends. The 15-year-old attacker was arrested by the court after his procedures at the police station.
STATEMENT OF THE MURDER SUSPECT
The 15-year-old E.Ç., who caused Atlas's death by stabbing him, was arrested. In his statement to the prosecutor's office, E.Ç. claimed that they were insulted.
E.Ç. explained that he went to a café with his friends on the day of the incident, saying, "After sitting in the café for a while, we went outside and started waiting in front of the café."
The murder suspect defended himself by claiming that the deceased child had insulted him.
