It was determined that Darwich Nassim, a Moroccan national and U.S. citizen, who drove a stolen SUV over vehicles in traffic, turning the area into a battlefield, entered Turkey on August 8. One of the four people injured in the incident died in the hospital to which they were taken.
In Avcılar, a suspect named Darwich Nassım, who stole a SUV from a dealership, turned the area into a battlefield by crashing into cars. In the incident, 14 vehicles were damaged, and 4 people were injured. Yıldıray Erol, one of the injured, died in the hospital, while the suspect was referred to the courthouse for the charge of 'intentional murder.'
Darwich Nassım (36), a US citizen of Moroccan origin, went to a car dealership in Cihangir Mahallesi around 15:40 yesterday, and fled with the SUV he boarded under the pretext of taking a 'test drive.' As he crashed into vehicles on the D-100 side road, Nassım also collided with cars in front of him near the Avcılar Central Metrobus Station and drove towards those trying to stop him. In the incident, 14 vehicles, including motorcycles, were damaged, and H.K.A., A.S., Y.A., and Yıldıray Erol (40) were injured. The suspect was caught and detained by police teams in Yenibosna. Yıldıray Erol, who was taken to Bakırköy Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, unfortunately, passed away despite all efforts.

The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the courthouse this morning for the charge of 'intentional murder.' Additionally, it was determined that the suspect entered Turkey on August 8.
