The Israeli army warned Palestinians in Gaza not to move from the south to the north of the region after the ceasefire agreement comes into effect tomorrow morning at 08:30 local time.
"DO NOT APPROACH ISRAELI FORCES"
Army Spokesman Avichay Adraee stated on his social media account that they wanted to clarify some issues to prevent friction and misunderstanding, emphasizing that the army aims to ensure the implementation of all details of the agreement.
Adraee expressed that the Israeli army would continue to be present in certain areas of the Gaza Strip according to the agreement and warned against approaching Israeli forces in the region until the next announcement.
Adraee stated, "Given the activities of the Israeli army in the region, there is still a risk of moving from the south of the Gaza Strip to the north or towards the Netzarim Corridor (between the south and north of the Gaza Strip). When this movement is allowed, a statement and instructions regarding safe transportation methods will be published."
Adraee also mentioned that approaching the Rafah border area in the south of the Gaza Strip, the Philadelphia Corridor area (on the Gaza-Egypt border), and areas where the Israeli army is concentrated is dangerous. He emphasized that there is also a significant danger for fishing, swimming, and diving in the maritime area along the Gaza Strip.
Finally, Adraee noted that approaching the lands and buffer zones controlled by Israel is prohibited and extremely dangerous.
CEASEFIRE AND PRISONER EXCHANGE AGREEMENT
Qatar, one of the mediating countries, announced on January 15 that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza. The ceasefire agreement, which will come into effect on Sunday, January 19, will consist of three phases, with the first 42 days releasing 33 Israeli prisoners. The agreement also includes comprehensive humanitarian aid reaching the Gaza Strip and allowing displaced Palestinians to return to their regions. Details of the second and third phases will be announced upon the completion of the first phase.
