Details have emerged regarding the incident in which the responsible officer of the Büyükçekmece Courthouse's Trust Office stole 50 kilograms of silver and approximately 25 kilograms of gold and fled to England. It has been revealed that the stolen gold was jewelry seized during a fake citizenship operation conducted in 19 provinces centered around Istanbul.

50 KILOS OF SILVER AND 25 KILOS OF GOLD STOLEN FROM THE JUDICIAL DEPOSIT BOX
It was reported to the Chief Public Prosecutor of Büyükçekmece that Erdal T., the officer in charge of the Deposit Office, had not been coming to work for a long time. Following this, the Chief Public Prosecutor ordered the opening of the deposit office room and the safes inside it with the help of the staff. During the search, it was determined that approximately 50 kilograms of silver and approximately 25 kilograms of gold were missing.

Upon the instruction of the Chief Public Prosecutor, arrest warrants were issued for the officer Erdal T. and another suspect, Kemal D. In the investigation, it was found that Erdal T. had fled to England with his family on November 19, 2025, around 08:22. The other suspect, Kemal D., was captured and taken into custody at his address. Additionally, it was learned that suspect Erdal T. had written to his friends on WhatsApp, "I sold the goods, may Allah give you a market."
HE HAD BEEN WORKING AT THE COURTHOUSE SINCE 2021
Meanwhile, the investigation into the shocking incident is being conducted meticulously by the Chief Public Prosecutor of Büyükçekmece. According to the information obtained, it was learned that suspect Erdal T. worked in a service staff position, and he did not have the key to the judicial deposit box, only the key to the room was in his possession. Furthermore, it was revealed that another suspect, Kemal D., had been working as a clerk at the courthouse since 2021, and he had the keys to both the judicial deposit box and the judicial deposit room, while Erdal T. started working in 2022.
AN INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED IN THE OFFICE TWO MONTHS AGO
According to the information obtained, the judicial deposit door is a steel door that operates with a double key system, and these safes are inspected every two months, with the last inspection having been conducted two months ago, and no negative findings were reported. It was learned that the incident was noticed by the Chief Public Prosecutor during a routine inspection conducted in the office.
IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE STOLEN ITEMS WERE JEWELS FROM A FAKE CITIZENSHIP OPERATION
Additionally, it was revealed that the gold stolen by Erdal T. was among the jewels seized during an operation conducted against 113 suspects who were detained as part of a fake citizenship investigation centered in Istanbul across 19 provinces.
The investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor of Büyükçekmece is ongoing, and it is expected that the detained suspect Kemal D. will be brought to court in the coming days.
