An extraordinary incident occurred in Istanbul. Umut U., a jeweler with a shop in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Bahçelievler, allegedly disappeared with the gold he collected from local tradesmen and customers for investment purposes.

Police teams were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a report. The police listened to the citizens' complaints and initiated an investigation into the matter.
"THERE ARE MORE THAN 100 VICTIMS"
A citizen named Türkan Sadık, who gave 250 grams of gold to the jeweler, said, "He took all our gold and disappeared. I had 250 grams of gold. I went to his house, and no one was there. We haven't been able to reach him since yesterday. Right now, there are more than 100 victims. He took everyone's money and left," she said.
"HE TOOK EVERYONE'S MONEY AND RAN AWAY"
A victim named Faruk Yalman, who said the jeweler took the gold and ran away, stated, "I paid 106,000 TL. I was supposed to buy 3 Ajda bracelets. He said, 'Come and take them on Wednesday.' He took everyone's gold and money and ran away. I haven't been able to reach him for 3 days. There are 10-15 people who are victims here. One person lost 10 million TL, another 5 million TL, and one sold his car. He took everyone's money and ran away. We want him to be found. We have been shopping here for about 6-7 years."
