Journalists Timur Soykan and Murat Ağırel were taken into custody by the police at their homes in the early hours of the morning. It was announced by journalist Şule Aydın that searches were being conducted at the homes of both journalists by police teams.

In a statement regarding the detention, Şule Aydın said, "Murat and Timur are being taken into custody. Searches are currently being conducted at their homes. Enough!"
CHP'S BULUT: JOURNALISM IS NOT A CRIME
Burhanettin Bulut, Deputy Chairman of the CHP, also stated on his social media account, "Enough! Journalists Timur Soykan and Murat Ağırel have been taken into custody again in a dawn operation. The only aim of those who subject Turkey to these ugly scenes, who use the judiciary as a club, is to intimidate journalists who criticize the government and free media. Journalism is not a crime! Down with tyranny, long live freedom!"
