In the accident where a car collided with a motorcycle in Beykoz, 16-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, lost his life. The motorcycle driver and two pedestrians on the sidewalk were also injured. The car driver, Fatma Zehra Kınık, the daughter of former Red Crescent president Kerem Kınık, was released under judicial control by the court. Uysal Uğurlu, the lawyer of Çeki's family who lost his life in the accident, said, "While it is necessary for everyone who is primarily at fault to be arrested and finally arrested, the legal process has been mismanaged. We submitted objection petitions to the prosecutor's office and requested his arrest."

COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS

In the accident that occurred in Kavacık on Tuesday, July 9th, the car with license plate number 34 FKJ 390, driven by Fatma Zehra Kınık, the daughter of former Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, collided with the motorcycle with license plate number 34 HUT 980, driven by Yavuz Selim Öztürk. Batın Barlas Çeki, who was sitting behind on the motorcycle, Öztürk, the motorcycle driver, and a person walking on the sidewalk were injured. Despite all the interventions performed at the hospital, Çeki lost his life. Zehra Kınık, whose procedures at the police station were completed after the accident, was released under judicial control by the court.

BOTH DRIVERS FOUND AT FAULT

In the report prepared regarding the accident in which 16-year-old Batın Barlas Çeki lost his life, both drivers were found to be 50% at fault. Çeki's family and lawyers came to Beykoz Courthouse and objected to Kınık's release. Speaking after leaving the courthouse, family lawyer Uysal Uğurlu said, "Unfortunately, we learned that the person who caused the death of the young child as a result of a sad traffic accident was released to be tried without arrest. We will follow this legal process until the end. We learned that the suspect was released. It is a situation that wounds consciences as a lawyer. There is causing death. Everyone who is primarily at fault must be arrested, sent to arrest, and finally arrested. However, the legal process has been mismanaged. But what is the reason, who are the responsible ones, we will follow this closely. We submitted objection petitions to the prosecutor's office and requested his arrest. The next process is in the hands of the prosecutor's office," he said.

GRANDFATHER RIZA DOĞAN: I WANT JUSTICE

Rıza Doğan, the grandfather of Batın Barlas Çeki, said, "Something is being covered up, but let's not forget that there are images in the eyes of Allah. We cannot hide anything. This is our test. In the next process, both ours and theirs, the test begins. We are all devastated. Words are insufficient," he said. Grandmother Havva Doğan said, "There are no words. The pain is immense. My daughter had one child, she had no other children. The road belonged to my grandson, not to him. We are waiting for justice," she said.
