MHP General President Devlet Bahçeli was taken to a private hospital in Gebze on February 4.
Bahçeli underwent surgery here two days later. In the statement made after the surgery, it was stated, "MHP General President Mr. Devlet Bahçeli was admitted to Anadolu Health Center Hospital on February 4 for planned examinations and treatments. As a result of the examinations and medical evaluations, due to the signs of degeneration in the heart valve that was replaced 10 years ago, the existing valve was surgically replaced on February 6, and the procedure was completed very successfully without complications. His medical condition is extremely good and stable, and he is resting in his room. He will return to his daily life shortly after the hospital process is completed," it was stated.
