LANDSLIDE AT THE STONE QUARRY
According to the information obtained, a landslide occurred during work at a stone quarry located near the Ordu-Çamaş highway. During the incident, the construction machinery and truck working at the quarry were trapped under the falling material.
TWO WORKERS TRAPPED UNDER THE RUBBLE
Upon notification, AFAD, fire brigade, gendarmerie, and health teams were dispatched to the area. It has been learned that the teams have started working to reach the two people trapped under the rubble.
STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF ORDU
Ordu Governor Muammer Erol stated that a landslide occurred at a gravel quarry site on the Fatsa-Çatalpınar highway, and he himself is on his way to the scene. Expressing that the relevant teams have been dispatched to the area, Governor Erol said, "There is currently no clear information. There is information about the presence of construction machinery. Teams have been dispatched." he stated.
Following the work at the scene, Erol said that the teams have started search efforts for the 2 workers who were determined to be trapped under the rubble. Erol noted that the stone quarry is located 7 kilometers from the district center and added: "There was a blasting operation carried out around 12:00 as part of routine work at the stone quarry. However, around 16:30, there was a mass movement from the upper levels. Currently, there is a truck and a construction machine, along with their driver and operator, under the mass. There are construction machines working at the point described by our friends who know this area. We have about 20 construction machines supporting these efforts. AFAD, UMKE, gendarmerie, and 112 teams are here."
