Meteorology experts have announced that Turkey will experience its heaviest snowfall in many years this winter. Due to the "La Niña" effect, significant snowfall is expected in 39 provinces, particularly in Marmara, the Black Sea region, and Central Anatolia, especially towards the end of December 2025 and in mid-January 2026.

According to experts, the "La Nina" effect is expected to be observed in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin, which includes Turkey. It is stated that this climate phenomenon will bring heavy snowfall across the country, especially between December 20, 2025, and January 20, 2026.

Climate Scientist Dr. Okan Bozyurt stated that they expect above-normal precipitation this winter season, particularly highlighting the northern parts of Marmara, the Black Sea, and Central Anatolia, as well as the inner regions of the Aegean. Bozyurt expressed that heavy snowfall is highly likely to occur in these areas.

In the first days of the new year, it is expected that 39 provinces will be under snowfall.
