PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE: INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the allegations shared on social media regarding referee Zorbay Küçük should not be taken seriously within the scope of the investigation known to the public as "the referees' membership in betting sites." In the statement, it was noted that "The responses to the letters written regarding the betting sites that operate legally in our country are currently under evaluation, and the examples of response letters circulating on social media, which are claimed to be related to this investigation, cannot lead to a judicial assessment of whether the allegations are true or false."

WHAT WAS ALLEGED?

It was claimed that the betting accounts allegedly opened in the name of referee Zorbay Küçük were opened using Küçük's Turkish ID number, that the registered mobile phone and bank account information did not belong to Küçük, that no money deposit or withdrawal transactions were made through the account, and that only the "welcome bonus" defined in the system was used to play games.
