Lawyer Serkan Toper, whose name was allegedly mentioned in the operation during the arrest of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, responded to the allegations. Toper rejected the claims, describing the situation as a "political operation." He stated that he preferred to remain silent on the matter. Following his arrest, Ersoy had also stated, "There is a political operation." Ersoy had taken a step back after the backlash.
Journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy was detained last week in a drug investigation. Ersoy was arrested by the court he was brought to and sent to prison.

It was claimed that lawyer Serkan Toper's name was also mentioned in the investigation in which Ersoy was arrested. Toper, who previously denied the allegation of being detained, has made a new statement.
