As a result of the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the indictment prepared against the Manifest Group and Aydeed (Ayça Dalaklı), who performed on stage together, was accepted by the Istanbul 49th Criminal Court of First Instance on the charge of "acting shamelessly by way of exposure." It has been learned that the defendants will be tried with a request for imprisonment of 6 months to 1 year, and that the trial will be conducted based on the file without the defendants appearing before the judge.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED AFTER THE KÜÇÜKÇİFTLİK PARK CONCERT
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an ex officio investigation due to "shameless acts" and "exhibitionism" related to the dance and performances staged during the Manifest Group concert held at Küçükçiftlik Park.
As part of the investigation, group members gave statements at the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, stating in their testimonies that no sexual organs were visible on stage and that the dance choreographies consisted of figures used in international stage shows. The group members also stated that the concert was organized with an age limit of +18 and that there were no child spectators, and they denied the allegations.
After the statements, the suspects were released under judicial control measures.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE'S ASSESSMENT OF "AGAINST THE SENSE OF DECENCY OF THE SOCIETY"
In the indictment prepared at the end of the completed investigation, charges of "acting shamelessly by way of exhibitionism as stated in Article 225/1 of the Turkish Penal Code" were directed against the group members and Aydeed.
The indictment included statements that "when the video examination report was reviewed, it was seen that each of the suspects was dancing," while it was noted that the figures in question "violated the common sense of decency, chastity, and modesty of the society" and that they were "of a nature that could harm the feelings of children and young people."
The prosecutor's office assessed that the dances that took place in the concert area had a sexual nature, and that the images were published on social media and various platforms, reaching a wide audience, thus making the actions public.
TRIAL WILL BE CONDUCTED BASED ON THE FILE
With the acceptance of the indictment by the court, the trial of the Manifest Group and Aydeed will be conducted through simple trial procedures based on the file. The defendants will present their defenses through the file without appearing in the courtroom.
