The claim that a meter system has been introduced in restaurants and cafes, requiring customers to place new orders at their tables every 30 minutes, has caused an uproar in the public. The Communications Directorate stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth, saying, "There is no regulation, work, or implementation regarding this matter."

News regarding the application, which includes items such as charging customers a '50 TL' table fee for those who do not place an order and requiring new orders every 30 minutes, has also received significant coverage in some media outlets.
"DENIAL OF THE "TAXIMETER" CLAIM
The Communication Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center announced that the claims of "the taxi meter method is starting in restaurants and cafes" and "fees will be charged based on the duration of stay" do not reflect the truth.

In a statement made from DMM's official X account, the following expressions were included; "There is no regulation, work, or application regarding charging customers based on their duration of stay in restaurants, cafes, or similar establishments under Article 54 of the Price Tag Law No. 6502 and the Price Tag Regulation by the Ministry of Commerce."
