On the first day of Ramadan, former footballer Mesut Özil met with Rohingya Muslims in Bangladesh and played football with the children. Özil created unforgettable moments by playing matches with the kids.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of COX'S Foundation for Scientific Publishing Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan and President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) Abdullah Eren visited TİKA's multi-purpose education and culture center in the camp in Cox's Bazar, where Rohingya Muslim refugees are located, participated in the football tournament organized by TİKA, and broke their fast with a Rohingya Muslim family.
Bilal Erdoğan, TİKA President Eren, and former football player Mesut Özil visited the TİKA center located in the camp where Rohingya Muslim refugees live in the Cox's Bazar region. Here, Bilal Erdoğan and Eren met with students and chatted, while also touring the center.
The delegation, which visited the music class and the TİKA Computer and Robotics Workshop at the center, distributed gifts to the children and took photos. In his speech here, Bilal Erdoğan conveyed the message that Turkey will continue to contribute to the welfare of Rohingya Muslims.
Pointing out the efforts to address the educational deficiencies of Rohingya Muslims, Erdoğan thanked TİKA for its contributions during the process. TİKA President Eren also stated that TİKA has implemented many projects in the region since 2017 under the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Eren drew attention to the fact that many activities are carried out at the center, noting that the important thing is to improve social psychology and secure the future of Rohingya Muslims through education.
MESUT ÖZIL PLAYED FOOTBALL WITH ROHINGYA REFUGEES
Former football player Mesut Özil and TİKA President Eren played football with refugees at the award ceremony of the 3rd Rohingya Football Tournament organized by TİKA. The ceremony was attended by hundreds of Rohingya Muslims. After the match, awards were presented to the successful team and players. Bilal Erdoğan and Eren then visited the Turkey Diyanet Foundation El Şifa Model Girls' School and chatted with the students.
IFTAR WITH ROHINGYA MUSLIMS
Bilal Erdoğan and Eren broke their fast for the first iftar of Ramadan with a Rohingya Muslim family. The delegation opened their fast at the home of TİKA's development ambassador in Cox's Bazar, Muhammed Ayub. Ayub had carried his parents in two baskets for 15 days to save them from attacks in Myanmar's Rakhine state and sought refuge in Bangladesh. After completing their program in Bangladesh, Bilal Erdoğan and Eren departed from Dhaka to return to Turkey.
