National archer Mete Gazoz, the reigning Olympic champion, bid farewell to the Olympics after losing 6-4 to his South Korean opponent Woojin Kim in the men's individual quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Mete, who also competed on behalf of the Men's Recurve National Team, had previously won a bronze medal alongside Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış and Ulaş Berkim Tümer.
