Mexico's Annual Industrial Output Rises 3.3% In February

Figure shows 0.1% contraction on monthly basis.

Mexico's industrial production annually rose 1.5% in February with seasonally adjusted figures, according to the country's statistical authority on Thursday.

The figure was expected to show a 3.5% increase, after recording a 1.9% annual expansion in January.

The construction sector led the increase with a gain of 12.1%, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) said in a statement.

On a monthly basis, industrial activity in February contracted 0.1%, compared to the same month of last year.

The figure was expected to show a 0.3% monthly gain, after recording a 0.2% increase in January. -
