Galatasaray announced the transfer of Colombian defender Carlos Cuesta from Genk. The yellow-red club stated that they will pay a total transfer fee of 8 million euros to Genk, spread over installments over 3 seasons.
Finally, the Super League giant Galatasaray, which has reached a happy ending with Lemina, continues its transfer activities without interruption. The yellow-reds have also reached an agreement with Genk's 25-year-old Colombian defender Carlos Cuesta.
8 MILLION EUROS
The yellow-reds will pay a total transfer fee of 8 million euros to Genk for the Colombian defender in installments spread over 3 seasons. The yellow-reds announced that a 3.5-year contract has been signed with the Colombian defender.
Galatasaray's statement is as follows:
"An agreement has been reached with the club K. Racing Club Genk 322 VZW regarding the transfer of professional football player Carlos Eccehomo Cuesta Figueroa. In this context, a total net transfer fee of 8,000,000 EUR will be paid to the player's former club in installments spread over 3 seasons. A 3.5-year contract has been signed with the player, effective from the 2024-2025 season.
Accordingly, the player will receive:
Net 650,000 EUR for the second half of the 2024-2025 season
Net 1,450,000 EUR for the 2025-2026 season
Net 1,550,000 EUR for the 2026-2027 season
Net 1,650,000 EUR guaranteed salary for the 2027-2028 season.

Cuesta, who is a teammate of Davinson Sanchez from the Colombian National Team, can play as a defensive midfielder and right-back, although his main position is center-back. The 25-year-old player, who has played in 13 matches for Genk this season, scored 1 goal.
