16.5 million retirees are waiting for the bonuses they will receive before the Ramadan holiday. According to the information obtained, the draft regarding the retirement bonuses will be presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) on Monday. While three different scenarios for the increase are being discussed in the corridors, it is expected that the holiday bonus for 2025 will be between 3,500 TL and 4,000 TL, in line with the fight against inflation and the tight monetary policies being implemented.

Important developments have occurred regarding the holiday bonus that concerns 16.5 million retirees. According to the information obtained, it is expected that the AK Party will present the bill regarding holiday bonuses for retirees to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on Monday.

THEY RECEIVED 3,000 LIRA IN 2024

Retirees receive a holiday bonus twice a year, for Ramadan Bayram and Kurban Bayram. Ramadan Bayram will be celebrated between March 30 and April 1 in 2025. This means that retirees will receive their bonuses before March 30. The holiday bonus was increased to 3,000 lira in 2024, and retirees received a 3,000 lira bonus before the holiday.

THREE SCENARIOS ARE BEING DISCUSSED FOR MONDAY;

The first scenario is a 500 lira increase in the holiday bonuses. Accordingly, retirees will receive 3,500 TL before the Ramadan Bayram starting on March 30.
The second scenario is a 750 TL increase. In this scenario, it is anticipated that retirees will receive a 3,750 TL bonus.
The third scenario is a 1,000 TL increase. In this scenario, it is being discussed that retirees will receive a 4,000 TL bonus for the holiday.

Social Security Expert Emin Yılmaz stated to CNN Türk that during the meeting held by the AK Party management, the 33% increase on the 3,000 lira holiday bonus, which amounts to 4,000 TL, has come to the forefront. In his statement regarding the issue, Yılmaz mentioned, "There are 3 formulas on the table: 500 TL, 750 TL, and 1,000 TL. The 4,000 TL bonus is coming to the forefront."
