MINISTRY SENT 2 INSPECTORS
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who made a statement on the matter, stated that they sent 2 inspectors. Additionally, Yerlikaya noted that a directive was sent to all governorships to collect street dogs.
"WE HAVE TO DO WHAT THE LAW REQUIRES"
Yerlikaya said: "Street animals are not being collected. There are those who do not perform this duty properly. The commission to be established will work as follows. It will be checked whether the number has increased every month. Just like in the painful incident in Konya, whenever such incidents occurred in many cities before, we sent inspectors as a ministry. We tell them; Go and check. From now on, I promise. In 30 metropolitan cities, in 51 provinces, I am calling out from here. We must fulfill this responsibility, we must do what the law requires. We love our animals, we all love them. I have 3 cats at home.
"I WILL USE MY AUTHORITY TO THE FULLEST"
We need to implement the law regarding street animals. Today we are holding a security and peace meeting. - We cannot manage the process by pretending. Governorships, mayors all need to sit together and either do this job or I will use whatever legal authority the law gives me to the fullest. So that no more 2-year-old Rana goes to the grave in the spring of her life."
