Minister Fidan: Our story in Syria is just beginning.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, "I can say that our story regarding Syria is just beginning. At this stage, the Syrian people are facing various challenges, primarily the reconstruction of the country. With the opening of our embassy within a week after the regime's fall and through our active committees on the ground, we have started to support our neighbor's reconstruction and development efforts."

Speaking about the new era following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, Fidan said, "Our Syrian brothers, who are fighting a difficult struggle against a blood-stained regime, have laid the foundations of a new era by putting an end to 61 years of oppression."



"WE DEFENDED HUMANITY DESPITE ALL PROVOCATIONS"



Fidan continued: "Since 2011, despite all attacks, provocations, and obstacles, we have defended rights, justice, and humanity with strategic patience in our Syria policy. We said, 'The just have no hurry.' Today, we are experiencing the rightful pride of standing on the right side of history."



Fidan, who said, "As someone who has worked intensively on Syria for 13 years, seeing this result has certainly pleased us all," added, "I can say that our story regarding Syria is just beginning. The Syrian people are facing various challenges, especially regarding the reconstruction of the country at this stage. With the opening of our embassy within a week after the regime's overthrow and our active efforts on the ground, we have started to support our neighbor's reconstruction and development efforts."
