Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made a statement regarding the Public Framework Protocol for public workers.
"UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS REFLECTED DIFFERENTLY TO THE PUBLIC"
Işıkhan stated, "The proposal for 24% for the first 6 months given on July 18 and the inflation rate for the second 6 months was unfortunately drawn to different points. The 24% proposal for the first 6 months corresponds to an increase above inflation. However, unfortunately, the proposal was reflected differently to the public and was not accepted."
STRIKE DECISION FROM TÜRK-İŞ
On the other hand, as no agreement could be reached with the government during the negotiations for the Public Collective Labor Agreements Framework Protocol covering the years 2025 and 2026, the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ) implemented the strike decision. The first strike announcement was posted at the General Directorate of Highways (KGM). Union officials announced that strike announcements would be posted at approximately 500 more public institutions in the coming days.
INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AT WORKPLACES
In the statement made, it was reported that the strike decisions would be announced in accordance with the legal timetable, and that information and organization efforts would continue in workplaces during this process. The details of the strike implementation are expected to be shared with the public in the coming days.
