The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, who signaled that the retirement system may change, stated, "Currently, there is an injustice in pension payments; those with different contribution days should not receive the same pension."
The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, indicated that significant changes could be made to the pension system in his statement at the consultation camp organized by the AK Party in Kızılcahamam. Şimşek stated that salaries should be restructured based on the number of premium days.

In his speech, Minister Şimşek emphasized that there is injustice in the current system, saying, "I often receive complaints that those with 3,000 premium days and those with 9,000 premium days should not receive the same salary. Currently, there is an injustice in retirement salaries. Those with different premium days should not receive the same salary."

According to a report in the Türkiye newspaper, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Işıkhan, also made a statement regarding the issue. Işıkhan expressed that work has begun to restructure the pension system and that the principle of "salary based on paid premiums" should be implemented. It is stated that with the new system, the aim is for those who have worked longer and paid more premiums to receive higher salaries.
