At the World Taekwondo Championship held in China, our national athlete Nafia Kuş Aydın won the gold medal by defeating Svetlana Osipova from Uzbekistan 2-1 in the women's +73kg final. Nafia Kuş became the world champion for the second consecutive time.

WORLD CHAMPION FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE TIME
According to the statement from the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, on the 4th day of the event held in Wuxi, China, Nafia advanced to the first round without a match. Nafia defeated Kalina Boyadzhieva from Bulgaria, Katherine Bathily from Ivory Coast, Dagmara Haremza from Poland, and Lauren Williams from Great Britain, securing her place in the final. The 30-year-old national taekwondo athlete came from behind to defeat Uzbekistan's Svetlana Osipova 2-1 in the final, becoming world champion once again after 2023.
MEDAL COUNT RISES TO 5
The number of medals won by Turkish taekwondo athletes increased to 5 (2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) at the end of the 4th day of the 2025 World Championship.
