In a statement made by the Ministry, it was stated, "In order to ensure that the trade of second-hand motor vehicles is carried out in a safe environment, and to increase service quality and consumer satisfaction, businesses operating in this field are required to obtain an authorization certificate from our Ministry of Trade. In this context, 'Authorization Certificate for Second-Hand Motor Vehicle Trade' has been issued to a total of 79,113 businesses to date."
HEFTY FINES
The statement noted that as a result of regular inspections and audits, a total of 102 million lira in administrative fines has been imposed on 113 real and legal entities found to be engaged in the trade of second-hand motor vehicles without an authorization certificate, and it was stated, "In just this year, the total amount of administrative fines imposed by our Ministry on 217 real and legal entities identified as conducting commercial activities without an authorization certificate has reached 174 million lira."
It was stated, "As the Ministry of Trade, we will continue our efforts and inspections uninterruptedly to reduce unregistered activities in the trade of motor vehicles, prevent unfair commercial practices and consumer grievances, and strengthen a fair and secure market structure."
