Yüksel Güran, who received a life sentence for the murder of Narin Güran, broke her silence with a letter sent from prison. Claiming to have been subjected to slanders similar to those faced by Prophet Joseph, Güran said, 'My daughter is in the grave of the dead, while my son and I are in the grave of the living,' and initiated a 'mutual cursing' invitation. Addressing figures like Gülben Ergen, Nahit Eren, and Saadet Oruç, Mother Güran stated, 'If we have harmed my Narin, may God break our necks; but if you are slandering us, let the curse be upon you, say amen.'
In the case of Narin Güran, who was murdered in Diyarbakır, mother Yüksel Güran, sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, broke her silence with a shocking letter sent from prison. Claiming that she and her family have been slandered, Güran invited well-known public figures to a "mutual cursing."
HER REMARKS DREW ATTENTION
Yüksel Güran, convicted in the case of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in a riverbed in Diyarbakır's Bağlar district, sent a message to the outside world through her son Baran Güran. In the letter shared on social media by uncle Ömer Güran, Yüksel Güran's harsh and religiously infused statements drew attention.
"I AM A MOTHER, MY DAUGHTER IS IN THE GRAVE OF THE DEAD, I AM IN THE GRAVE OF THE LIVING"
Beginning her letter with the emphasis "I am a mother," Yüksel Güran described her ordeal with these words:
"I am a mother sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering my Narin, whom I could never get enough of smelling. A mother who was not even allowed to see her daughter's funeral, whose honor and chastity were slandered... My daughter Narin is in the grave of the dead, my son and I are in the grave of the living."
"I LEAVE THE JUDGMENT TO ALLAH: THIS IS AN INVITATION TO MUTUAL CURSING"
Stating that she no longer has the strength to respond to the accusations against her, Güran challenged by referencing the tradition of "mubahala" (mutual cursing) in the Quran:
"I invite everyone who has slandered me and my family, who accused us of murdering our child or knowing the killer and staying silent, to mutual cursing. If your slanders are true, if I or someone from my family killed my Narin, may the curse of Allah, the angels, and all who curse be upon us, may Allah break our necks!"

All journalists who have spread lies to the public for months, say amen... I say amen and I expect help only from Allah."

I invite everyone who has slandered me and my family, who have gossiped about my chastity, who accused us of murdering our child or knowing the killer and staying silent, but especially some names who played a leading role in this slander process, to mutual cursing.
Yes! In the presence of society, under the arbitration of Allah, I invite those who have slandered me and my family to mutual cursing..
If your slanders are true, if I or someone from my family killed my Narin, or if we knew the killer and stayed silent, may the curse of Allah, the angels, and all who curse be upon me and my family, may Allah break our necks…
But if you are cowards who slander a mother who has lost the light of her eyes, may the curse of Allah, the angels, and all who curse be upon you and your family, may Allah break your necks.

BACKGROUND OF THE CASE
Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21, 2024, was found dead 19 days later. As a result of the investigation, mother Yüksel Güran, uncle Salim Güran, and brother Enes Güran were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional killing of a child as a participant."
