NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that the US and Israel have the full support of Europe for their attacks on Iran. Rutte stated that NATO and European countries have taken a joint stance regarding Iran's nuclear capabilities and ballistic missiles.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Europe is providing "all necessary support" for the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, claiming to neutralize Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.
"I APPRECIATE TRUMP'S EFFORTS ON IRAN"
Rutte provided information about the stance of NATO and European countries regarding the US-Israel attacks on Iran in a statement to American Fox News.
When asked about the stance of NATO and European states regarding the attacks on Iran, Rutte first expressed condolences for the US military casualties and stated that he appreciates President Donald Trump's efforts to eliminate Iran's nuclear capacity and ballistic missile program, as well as the killing of the country's religious leader Ali Khamenei.
"EUROPE IS PROVIDING ALL NECESSARY SUPPORT FOR THE IRAN OPERATION"
Rutte mentioned that he spoke with all leaders in Europe over the weekend and said that these leaders have taken action to defend the key interests of the US in the region. The NATO Secretary General added, "Yesterday, I spoke with NATO's top commanders. Europe is doing everything necessary for this operation to continue and is providing all necessary support."
Referring to the leading position of France and Germany in supporting the US, Rutte acknowledged the hesitant stance of the UK regarding the use of its bases in the region. Rutte assessed that the London government wanted to address its legal concerns regarding the issue initially and that as of last night, it was "convinced" on this matter.
"WE ARE FACING A REGIME IN IRAN THAT IS INHERENTLY TERRORIST"
Rutte expressed that all European countries agree on supporting the US by stating, "We are all for one, and one for all. So we are facing a regime in Iran that is inherently terrorist and exports chaos to the region, and that is why everyone supports what is being done here under President Trump's leadership. It is very important to eliminate the ability of this regime in Tehran to create chaos in the region and pose a threat to Europe."
ATTACKS BY THE US AND ISRAEL ON IRAN
Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and Washington.
Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the US-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed. The Iranian Red Crescent announced that 555 people lost their lives and 747 were injured in the bombings targeting the country.
