The Turkish Football Federation announced that 1024 football players were identified as having placed bets as part of an ongoing betting investigation into professional leagues and referred these names to the Professional Football Discipline Board (PFDK).

Necip Uysal announced via his social media account that he has never placed a bet in his life. In his statement, Necip Uysal said, ''I have had no relationship with betting throughout my life. I did not play, I did not have a betting account. The thought never even crossed my mind. I will fight all legal battles against the way my name, which I have tried to keep clean with my hard work for years, has been brought to the agenda in this way. The Beşiktaş fans and all sports enthusiasts should have no doubt about this.''
