The incident occurred on Saturday, August 30, around 19:30 in front of the café located within the South Campus of Boğaziçi University. Ayberk Kurtuluş, who shot his ex-girlfriend Hilal Özdemir during an argument, committed suicide with the same gun. The lifeless bodies of Özdemir and Kurtuluş were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the necessary procedures were completed.
