The medical documents regarding the Great Unity Party Leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and those with him who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Kahramanmaraş in 2009 were re-examined. Forensic Medicine disproved the statement in the 2011 report that 'the carbon dioxide level in the blood increases after death'.

A new Forensic Medicine report has emerged in the investigation into the deaths of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, the founder of the Great Unity Party (BBP), and five others who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Kahramanmaraş.

The Forensic Medicine Institute re-examined the medical documents regarding Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and the others who lost their lives in the helicopter crash in Kahramanmaraş in 2009. It has been revealed that the new report dated June 10, 2024 strengthens the possibility of the helicopter being shot down and assassinated.

NEW REPORT FROM FORENSIC MEDICINE

The Forensic Medicine General Board, which conducted an examination upon the request of the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, refuted the statement in the 2011 report that "the carbon dioxide level in the blood increases after death." The report, signed unanimously by the 30 members of the Forensic Medicine General Board, stated that "carboxyhemoglobin does not form after death."

Yazıcıoğlu's lawyers are expected to make a statement regarding the matter.

WHO IS MUHSIN YAZICIOĞLU?

Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, the leader of the BBP who lost his life along with five others when the helicopter he was on board crashed near Göksun district of Kahramanmaraş, was born in Elmalı village, which is connected to Sarkışla district of Sivas, in 1954.

Completing his primary and secondary education in Şarkışla, Yazıcıoğlu completed his higher education at Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine after coming to the capital city in 1972.

Yazıcıoğlu, who started his association work in Şarkışla in 1968 and joined the "Young Idealists Movement," started working at the Headquarters of the Idealist Hearths after coming to Ankara. Later, he became the founding chairman of the Idealist Youth Association, which was established in 1978, and served as the chief advisor to the chairman of the MHP until 1980.

After being imprisoned as a defendant in the "MHP and Idealist Organizations Case" following the military coup on September 12, 1980, Yazıcıoğlu spent 7.5 years in prison and did not receive any sentence at the end of the trial. After his release from prison, Yazıcıoğlu served as the president of the "Social Security and Education Foundation."

Yazıcıoğlu, who was elected as a member of parliament from Sivas within the alliance formed by three parties in the general elections in 1991, left the MÇP with a group of friends in 1992 and founded the Great Unity Party (BBP) on January 29, 1993, becoming its leader.

Yazıcıoğlu, who was re-elected to the parliament as the independent candidate for Sivas by resigning from his party in the early general elections on July 22, later rejoined the BBP and once again assumed the party leadership.
