Nine arrests in the 'bribery' investigation of Üsküdar Municipality.

In the Üsküdar Municipality of Istanbul, 20 suspects who were detained and referred to the courthouse on the allegation of irregularities in building permit and occupancy permit processes, as well as bribery offenses, have completed their prosecution procedures. Among those referred to the duty magistrate court with a request for arrest, 9 people, including Vice President Filiz Deveci, were arrested.

An operation was launched against the Üsküdar Municipality on Tuesday due to allegations of 'bribery and irregularities in building permits and occupancy processes' as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In simultaneous raids conducted at 30 different addresses in Istanbul and Yalova, 20 people were detained, including high-ranking municipal officials such as Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci and contractors. The 20 suspects, whose prosecution procedures have been completed, were referred to the Duty Peace Criminal Court.

DEPUTY MAYOR ARRESTED

Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci, along with Nazım Akkoyunlu, Hakan Yavuz, Özgür Ceylan, Barkın Ege Tekkökoğlu, Erdem Alkan, Kadir Karadağ, Yılmaz Kozan, and Ceyhan Han, was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest.

Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci and 8 others were arrested by the on-duty Peace Criminal Court and sent to prison.

Ahmet İşman, Veysel Köse, Burçin Çevik, Yasin Karabaş, Engin Araz, Özkan Sinan Binali, Eyüp Meriç, Murat Armağan, Mehmet Atilla Güneri, and Hakan Mansız were released under judicial control measures.
