Search and rescue efforts for 53-year-old Umut Tanrıkulu, who went hiking in the Salihli district of Manisa, have been temporarily halted due to adverse weather conditions. Teams will resume their work early in the morning.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing for the mountaineer who went missing after setting out on a summit hike in the Salihli district of Manisa. According to the information obtained, 53-year-old Umut Tanrıkulu ascended the mountain yesterday to make a summit hike. After a while, contact was lost with Tanrıkulu, who had called for help.
JAK TEAMS AND VOLUNTEERS IN THE AREA
Upon notification, AFAD, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams, along with volunteer citizens from Burhan Neighborhood, were dispatched to the area. The teams initiated a large-scale search operation in the Allahtankarlı area to reach the missing mountaineer.
WORKS HALTED DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER
Due to the darkness and adverse weather conditions affecting the region, the operations were halted. It has been learned that search and rescue activities will resume with the first light of dawn.
